The 12/9/19 Import and MailChimp
On December 9th, 2019 a list of email addresses were imported into Cru’s donation system that may have overridden an existing primary email address in MPDX. For those who have the sync turned on for MailChimp, this may have affected the accuracy of your MailChimp list in MPDX.
If a contact was listed in the donor system without an email address, the donor system automatically entered the email address and set it to ‘Primary’ for the contact. As a result, because the donor system syncs to MPDX, the emails that were set to primary in the donor system overrode what email address was set to primary in MPDX. The override had an impact on what emails were being synced to MailChimp.
Since then, the developers have resolved the problem so that emails that sync from the donation system to MPDX will no longer override and replace the existing Primary email.
Prior to the developers fixing and resolving the problem with the email addresses, you may have experienced an email getting bounced back from MailChimp.
If you experienced this problem you may need to take the following steps:
- To correct the email addresses in the donation system, please contact donation.services@cru.org.
- To correct the email addresses in MPDX you will need to edit them manually.
- Verify the accuracy of your current email newsletter list with MailChimp by following the instructions given in the Maintaining Your MailChimp List article.
