1. Why are we making this change to MPDX?

One of our goals is to see all of our staff reach 100% of their financial support goal. To aid in that process, we are committed to providing world-class tools and training to help our staff be as successful as possible in their Ministry Partner Development (MPD) efforts. We are also committed to keeping our ministry partners’ information secure and protected. While we generally encourage a freedom of choice in our tools and systems, in this instance, our need to move information and funds around the world presents serious financial and legal challenges to us as a global ministry.  As a result, based on the input of our General Counsel’s Office and a data privacy task force commissioned by our CCCI Board, we need to move all our staff members to use MPDX as their tool for personal MPD.

2. Do other systems need to be changed to begin using MPDX?

Any ministry that has used TntConnect is already setup to connect with MPDX. Individual staff members in those countries could begin using MPDX immediately. If you have not made the transition from TntConnect to MPDx, please wait. We are developing training and tools to make the transition process smoother. We will let you know when it is time.

3. What is the transition plan to help national ministries move to MPDX?

We are preparing a transition plan to provide support and training for ministries as they help their staff members make this transition. These include webinars, sample communication, training materials and plans to help make the transition as smooth as possible. The US is planning an earlier transition and is putting together resources for their move. Other nations will have the benefit of learning from their experience. We will be releasing a global transition plan shortly. In the meantime, we suggest you think about who from your ministry needs to be involved in helping your staff make this transition.

4. Can MPDX be used off-line?

By April 2017, entirely new mobile apps (Android and iOS) will be released that will provide offline access to your contacts, donations and tasks. In addition, if you are a Google Apps user, MPDX can sync to your Google contacts, calendar and tasks.

5. Is MPDX available in multiple languages?

MPDX and the MPDX help website are being translated into 6 common languages and we can quickly translate to other languages as soon as they are needed in this transition process.

6. Can I use multiple currencies with MPDX? Will MPDX allow me to see donations from multiple countries?

Yes. MPDX has support for multi-currency. Staff members can see their donations from around the world in one place.

7. How will training be provided on using MPDX?

In addition to the help site, our global operations and fund development teams are working on plans to provide contextualized training. More details to follow.

8. If I’m already using MPDX, where do I go to get help?

MPDX has a help site, with videos to walk staff members through setting up and using the tool ( mpdx.cru.org). We desire this site to be the primary source of training and support and it will be updated soon for our global transition process, including translations into multiple languages. We also have a support email address: support@mpdx.org.

9. With information about ministry partners and donations being uploaded into a cloud based system, who guarantees the security of the information?

MPDX provides industry standard security precautions, and our Global Operations Team is working with our legal department to comply with European Union and other data privacy laws as they pertain to MPDX.

10. Does MPDX seamlessly fit into existing accounting software used in each country? What preparation/transition will be needed at the national levels and how long will this take?

MPDX syncs directly with our DataServer software, which is part of our FCX financial toolset used by 130+ of our national ministries. Because of this, there is no preparation or work needed for any nation already using DataServer. Again, this means that any nation that has been using TntConnect can use MPDX immediately.

11. If there is a technical problem with MPDX, who will be responsible to provide fixes and support?

Our Digital Products and Services team is developing and maintaining MPDX for the global movement.

12. Is the layout of the system in sync with what DMPD is teaching/training? What would be the differences/similarities?

Initial discussions with DMPD leadership identified one key change that needs to be made, but in most respects, MPDX supports DMPD principles. We are also looking to add elements of the DMPD calling portal (developed by our New Zealand ministry) to MPDX to make it more powerful for following DMPD scripts in the calling process. We are planning to continue to develop MPDX to be a tool that integrates with, and supports, the DMPD process.

13. What is the process to give input to improve MPDX?
