Adjusting a Recurring Gift Amount to Reflect the EFT, Credit Card Processing Fee

Cru recently added the option for Ministry Partners giving an EFT or Credit Card donation through give.cru.org to add the processing fee charge to their donation. As they give and are walked through the check-out steps your ministry partner will see this option:

When they click to check the box and adjust their one-time donation or recurring donation, the updated final donation amount may not match the gift amount you have set in MPDX. 

The processing fee is 2.4% of the amount donated. So, for example

• A $25 gift has a $0.60 charge added
• A $50 gift has a $1.20 charge added
• A $100 gift has a $2.41 charge added
• A $150 gift has a $3.61 charge added

If you have the Notification: “Partner gave a larger gift than commitment” set, MPDX will acknowledge the slight difference in giving amount and send you a notification based on your preferences.

If you would like to keep this notification turned on, but DO NOT want notifications about gifts that include this 2.4% charge factored in, you can make a small change in your MPDX records for the associated ministry partners that will fix this issue.

Step 1: Visit their Contact page

Step 2: In the top blue section, under Commitment, click and type to adjust the amount to the new value. For the below example: Charming, Prince and Cinderella’s gift amount was adjusted from $25 to $25.60.
